East Jefferson Warriors, LA - Case Study

For this edition of the GameStrat Replay of the Week we talked with two great coaches, Head Coach Frank Allelo and Offensive Coordinator Ross Woods of the East Jefferson Warriors in Louisiana.

We never had any issues. We thought there may be some issues with connectivity, especially with some of the stadiums we play at, but we never had a single issue.

The Warriors made the switch to GameStrat mid way through the 2019 season. Making a switch like that isn't always the easiest thing to do, but according to Coach Allelo it was well worth it. 

"We'll never forget the first game we used it," said Coach Allelo. "We were nervous because we didn't know what we were going to get, and I had to be able to justify the purchase. It would have been horrible if I had to go tell my boss after, 'you know that sideline replay I've been asking to get for months? Yeah, we didn't like it.' So when Ross came over and told me that this whole thing was really easy, we could all take a deep breath because we knew we had something good."

Coach Woods shared a similar sigh of relief after getting setup with GameStrat midseason. 

"It was intimidating at first, but we got the equipment right away, we did the training, and everything went super smooth." He added, "We never had any issues, we thought going in there may be some issues with connectivity, especially with some of the stadiums we play at, but we never had a single issue. Even when we had to play at a play ground we were able to get it set up and it worked great, everything was easy with that. It's all very user friendly."  

He also talked about having access to their game film instantly with no delay or loading time and how it changed their in-game experience.

"It was a lot better, it took away a lot of the questions. We didn't have one coach is seeing this, another coach is seeing that. I was just like 'I'm looking at the film right now.'" Coach Allelo added, "The film don't lie."

Coach Allelo reflected on when GameStrat had a big impact not only on the result of a game for them, but on how he was able to coach up his kids and help them improve right away. 

"Our QB got stuck on the #3 receiver, but we saw that the #2 guy was basically uncovered. I was able to bring him over on the field and be like 'have a look at what I'm trying to tell you, you've gotta read the safety.'

Coach Allelo went on to say just how important that immediate adjustment was for them.

"To put that film in front of him, while he was on the field, he was able to get it right there. The next 3 weeks we really lit it up with that play! It came down to him seeing it in that moment. That was the moment where it all came together and we knew we definitely made the right choice."

Coach Woods added onto the story just how important it was to make that correction in real time.

"The fact that he could see it and right away do it, it wasn't something we showed him on Saturday and he had to come back with the next Friday, that made all the difference."

It's reliable. We're extremely happy with the product, the service, everything.

Coach Allelo and the Warriors staff have been very happy with GameStrat and they continue to improve how they use it to really get the most out of the technology. 

"Ross can back this up, we've never missed a single play with it." Coach Allelo added, "At the start I said just get the video, but as our guys got more comfortable we were able to get way more data than I had expected."

Ross did back him up on that point too, "It's reliable. We're extremely happy with the product, the service, everything."
